Lakers win big with Jeremy Lin Trade and here are the reasons

I have been hearing alot of mixed opinions. Some are extremely excited about Lin being a Laker. Others are really negative, complaining how Lakers didn't get Kobe a superstar like Melo and LeBron...but a Jeremy Lin.  Make no mistake, Lin is very under-rate & he is no scrub. Just listen to Chris McGee, Dave McMenamin and Mike Trudell discuss what can jlin bring to Lakers. Lakers actually win pretty big with this trade and here are the reasons:

It's hard to not respect Kobe's dedication and work ethic

There is a reason why Kobe is Kobe. Some say he is not human, but the truth is he just trains harder than everybody else. An athletic trainer describes what an insane dedication Kobe has to the game of basketball. One can not help, but to have major respect for Kobe after reading this:

Cool Video! Lakers: Underdogs

Kobe follows Lin on twitter!

OK, this may not seem like a big deal to some, but Kobe has only 80+ people whom he is following. In comparison, Nash is following around 600+ people, and Dwight Howard is at around 7,900!! To simply put, Kobe just doesn't follow people easily. Even some of his former teammates never got followed by him.  (Yes, while on the same team! & No I am not going to name names)

Kobe sent text message to Lin: "Welcome to the team"

Q :What reaction and behaviors do your Laker teammates have after you are traded to the Lakers?

A :Have not gotten in touch and chatted with teammates. But Kobe sent me a text. "Welcome to the team"

Kobe is actually nice to Lin despite media keeps highlighting Kobe didn't know who Jeremy is

When asked about how Kobe did not know who he was previously, Lin says he doesn't mind it at all.

"After that, everytime I play the Lakers Kobe would say hi to me, shake my hand, and introduce his family to me. He is very nice to me." says Lin during an interview in Asia

Jeremy hopes to earn Kobe's respect

Lin was asked about Kobe during an interview in Asia:

"I heard he wants to win, I also want to win"

"He hopes teammates take training seriously"

"I will seriously train hard. Hope he watches me compete & train"

"Hope to earn his respect."

"We can compete together." says Jeremy

Lin would like to model Kobe/Nash in terms of consistency and longetivity

Jeremy Lin's interview in China: He talks about Lakers, playing with Kobe & Nash, and more.

Q: What were you doing before you got traded to the Lakers, how did you feel?
Jeremy: I wasn't sure if I will change team. I just continued to train. My goal stayed the same.

Q: How did you find out about getting picked up by the Lakers? How did you feel when you found out this news?
Jeremy: I was in Beijing. I was sleeping, and then the phone rang in my hotel room. My agent told me I was traded to Los Angeles. I was so excited that I woke up my mom, sister-in law, and brothers, and told them about it (at 2am according to another source). And then I immediately arranged to fly to Los Angeles, completed my physical, and signed contract. Then back Shanghai to continue the event.
