Magic Johnson on Jeremy Lin as Lakers PG & thought Lin is a "real deal" (2 years ago)

Magic:

"Lin can get the ball and go. We need that. We haven't seen that in Laker point guard for a little while..and a guy who can do something down there, whether pull up for the jumper or take it all the way to the basket"

Magic says Lin can either be Nash's great backup or be a great starting PG if Nash can't play. He is very excited about Nash and Lin tandem and Clarkson will blossom under Byron.

Magic has always been a Lin believer, just watch what Magic says about Lin just 2 years ago:

Coach Miller is rooting for Jeremy Lin to have the biggest impact next season for Lakers

According to Coach Miller, many new Lakers will have big impacts but Lin will have the biggest of all because:
1. Lin will have the ball in his hands most as the primary PG
2. He has the ability to make others better
3. Under the mentor-ship of Nash

I just want to add that Lin makes others better due to following attributes:
A. Unselfishness: Lin shares the ball a lot and it is very contagious. It motivates players to move the ball and keep everyone happy & motivated on the both end of the floor- because they all get touches.
B. Awards runners: If players run and gun, Lin will award them by firing up long range passes. Take a look at Lin's Long Pass Highlights youtu.be/o1HesviWDMI
C. Team chemistry: not only Lin will keep his teammates happy on the court, he is also a great locker room guy who is able to get along with anyone.
D. Great communicator: When Lin is on the floor, he constantly communicates with his teammates. He's a proven floor general... when given the chance to be the role.

Jeremy Lin would choose to save Chandler Parsons over Landry Fields if both were to be drowning

During Jeremy Lin's Asia Tour event this summer, hosts were blasting Lin with hilarious questions at the event with following questions:

Host asks who Lin would save first if he were on a sinking Titanic together with Parsons & Fields.

"Is it okay to let them both live? and I...I know it's hard... to choose..." Lin hesitates.
"...coz they are both my really good friends.. But if I have to choose, right now it'd have to be Chandler because I know Landry is a Christian, so if he drowns he'd go to heaven"

Then Host asks Lin what is it like being friends with Parsons and Fields, and the difference between the two.

"They are ... their personalities are not very different. They are both very funny. And every time (everyday) we go on the road, we would eat sushi.  We really like sushi. Their personalities are very similar. I am very happy with both, and I know both of them very well. I hit if off with both pretty quickly." Lin replies

On picking a NBA good friends team, Lin wil definitely, both of them and Novak. And if he has to choose one more it'd be Probably Dorell Wright since Lin was playing with him in Golden State.

When asked about the most uncomfortable question he is being asked by reporters,
"haha..Do you have a girl friend? They ask every year." Lin chuckles.

On Lin's favorite questions ... his favorite ones are funny ones... like this one.

Host asks who Jeremy Lin wants to dunk on (over their head)
"Outside of the league? My dad, my older brother or younger brother" Lin replies.
"In the league... it has to be someone tall...Now I'll just pick Dwight Howard. Because he is my good friend. I know if I dunk on him, it'd remind him everytime I see him. Also I know he wont hurt me. He'd just laugh."

On who is the most sticky player in the league. Lin simply says it's hard to tell because everyone is playing together you have no idea who it is.

"What would you do if your dad wants to show Jabbar his sky hook?" Lin says he would just run away and not satya there. Because Jabbar would totally laugh at his dad.

Jeremy Lin & his hot fans

Lakers win big with Jeremy Lin Trade and here are the reasons

I have been hearing alot of mixed opinions. Some are extremely excited about Lin being a Laker. Others are really negative, complaining how Lakers didn't get Kobe a superstar like Melo and LeBron...but a Jeremy Lin.  Make no mistake, Lin is very under-rate & he is no scrub. Just listen to Chris McGee, Dave McMenamin and Mike Trudell discuss what can jlin bring to Lakers. Lakers actually win pretty big with this trade and here are the reasons:

'Linsanity' happened coz no one knew how to guard him, but now doesn't happen anymore coz they figured him out?

"My friend said 'Linsanity' Lin happened because no one knew how to guard him, but now doesn't happen anymore because everyone figured out how to guard him..?" Someone asked on Reddit

My answer: Partly true and partly false.

Yes during Linsanity, no one knew who he was & what Lin could do. At the height of Linsanity, Jeremys strength were: quick first step acceleration, attack basket from right, jumper, reverse lay up, drawing fouls, and crazy court vision + distribution.

Eventually teams knew he couldn't go left, and was a big risk taker so they try to double team him / triple team to trap him on the right to deny him driving Lane... And force turn overs. Also Lin wasn't greatest defender either.

So it's true that teams eventually figured him out. But that was hardly the reason Linsanity ended.
